A Safeline Throat metal detector can require as little as 200 mm of vertical installation space between a multi-head weigher and the forming tube or "throat" of a vertical form, fill and seal machine. On detection of contaminants the metal detector signals the packaging machine to stop, make a double bag or alternatively operate a synchronised automatic reject device positioned further down the line.
