X-Ray Inspection - Pipe Line

Many products are processed in a pipeline before being packed into their eventual containers. This is often the ideal place to perform X-ray inspection, since the orientation and position of the product can be controlled very accurately.

Typical Applications

Safeline X-ray systems are installed in numerous plants to inspect products in pipelines. These include metal detection in soups and sauces, as well as bone detection in processed meat.

X-ray solutions

  • Safeline has developed an X-ray system specifically for pipeline inspection: the InspireX R70.

  • This system has an automatic calibration feature so that there is no need to remove the equipment from the pipeline at any time.

InsireX R70 from Safeline: providing optimum protection for your products, your customers and the reputation of your brands.

Safeline’s Inspirex R70 comprises a pipe line format system that fits within the on- line and off- line processes, inspecting fluid and semi-solid products.

A computer-controlled “low energy” X-ray generator and powerful computer data and image analysis system combine to make Safeline inspection systems superior at detecting minute changes that signal product contamination or deviation from accepted specifications. Sophisticated image processing software also provides rapid analysis, detection and rejection - automatically.

Real-time analysis
Ensures all of the product is fully inspected.

Monitoring of product
Provides for maximum, consistent product quality - whether inspecting for naturally occurring or artificially introduced contaminants.

Detection and elimination of contaminants
Including metal, stone, glass, bone, high-density plastic and product agglomerates.

Multiple Configurations
The pipe diameter can be selected to match the existing line configuration.

A superior range
Safeline’s InspireX R70 product range are efficient, low-maintenance and easy to operate. All feature the same sophisticated technology to ensure maximum sensitivity and accuracy, whatever the application. Each system is designed to meet stringent food industry requirements.

All systems feature industry-leading detector and image processing technology, simple set up and use, user-friendly intuitive operator interfaces and sealing to IP65 as standard, IP69K optional.

  • Fully adaptive inspection and easy-to-understand operating procedures.

  • User-friendly operator control centre with touch screen display. Full-colour displays provide a visual reference using real-time images and diagnostics data.

  • Automatic adaptive inspection allows optimum sensitivity to be continuously achieved throughout production, despite variations in the product density.

  • Rugged construction, designed for wash down environments, the stainless steel enclosure cabinets easily fit into existing production lines.

  • The unique X-ray Generator / Detector design eliminates the need to separate the pipe and the inspection system during the calibration procedure.

  • Full computer controlled operation.

  • Available in 2”, 3” or 4” diameter pipe sizes.

  • Displays real-time images and diagnostics data in colour.
